About us
We started this website because we were put in a group together to create a website based off what we learned in our class. We all decided that it would be a great idea to create a website for the college community to have a safe space to create and explore different writings. For our first writings we decided to write about topics discussed in the classroom that impacted us or that we feel strongly about. Coincidentally, all of our stories are about reading and the importance of books in schools. Most writings go unnoticed and only make it to a teacher’s/ professor's desk where they are graded and put to the side. That’s why we decided to make this website. We wanted to give the chance to other college students to be able to publish their works and allow more people to read them. We hope this website allows students to feel like they have a voice, and their work can be seen by other college students/ community members. We also hope professors will use this website to get inspiration for their classes and encourage their students to publish their work to our site as well.
Hello, my name is Georgia Wooden. I am from Andersonville, Georgia, and I graduated Sumter County high school. I grew up in a small town surrounded by family and friends which made me very family oriented. That's why I decided to come to Georgia Southwestern State University. It’s in a small town which makes you feel close to everyone. I am Majoring in Elementary education. I love teaching children and being able to see them grow and learn new things. I love to interact with my friends and family. I like to be outdoors in the summertime especially, and I also like to read. An author that recently got my attention is Colleen Hoover; I love how her books have all sorts of twists and turns that really grab the reader's attention. I also like it when I am given a subject to write about that I'm interested in. I hope that you all enjoy our website! I can’t wait to read your stories!
Hello, my name is Sydney Griffin. I am from Americus, Georgia, and I graduated from Sumter County High School with honors. I am from a very small town, and I love making new friends. I chose Georgia Southwestern because it is very community oriented. Some of my hobbies include reading, playing tennis and volleyball, hanging out with my friends, and sleeping. I'm a freshman and Elementary Education major at Georgia Southwestern State University. I love to read, and I can’t wait to see what others write on our website!
Hello, my name is Mathias Kjer. I am from Aarhus, Denmark. I graduated back home in Denmark from Aarhus Business College. I moved to America in 2023, and chose Georgia Southwestern because of the Soccer program, and was up for a new challenge. When I'm not in school or playing soccer, I like to read, learn different languages, play different kinds of sports, and be around friends, which is a big part of my life. I'm a Sophomore and a Business Administration major at Georgia Southwestern State University. I have enjoyed making this website, and I'm excited to read all the stories you guys have to share.
